Read the payment symbols before buying

Some ticket machines take cash; others are cashless. ¥1,000 notes and coins are useful for compact machines. Do not infer credit-card support from a touchscreen.

Branch examples

AFURI Harajuku is cashless only. ICHIRAN Shibuya lists cash, cards and electronic methods with possible equipment exceptions. Rokurinsha’s operator and facility both list cash and transit IC; QR support differs between those listings and credit-card support was not established.
